What to Do With Used and Old Clothes

Going green tips to keep your kid's closet tidy and the environment clean.

How many times did you arrange your kid's closet and thought to yourself, "I really have to get rid of some of this stuff". Well, don't just throw old and used clothes away, here are some great things you can do with them:

1. Hand me downs - In my family we do a lot of hand me downs and I must say that it is a great way to get rid of the mess in my daughter's closet and save money on clothes.

2. Donate - If you don't have younger family members who can benefit from your clothes then there are needed families and charity funds that will be happy to receive them.

3. Cloths - Children are very messy and many of their clothes are in very bad shape, however don't throw them away, you can use pieces of their garments as cleaning cloths.

4. Clothes for dolls and bears - You can use your kid's old clothes as fabric to create dolls and bears clothes. Let your kid design it and help him/ her to saw it.

5. Fashion accessories - Transform old t-shirts and jeans into fashionable bags or wallets for your girls.

6. Craft projects - Use old clothes as fabric for craft projects, you and your kids can make stuffed animals, pillows, quilt, wall hanging to decorate a nursery and so on…

7. Sell - If donating holiday dresses don't make you feel comfortable since they cost you a lot of money you can sell them on ebay. It will make you feel better to receive some of the money spent on the dress and it will be used again by someone else.
